Which crawlers do you identify?
The AI ones that matter for answers: GPTBot and OAI-SearchBot (OpenAI), ClaudeBot and Claude-SearchBot (Anthropic), PerplexityBot, Google's AI crawlers, DuckAssistBot, CCBot and the other assistants' bots. The list is explicit and maintained, so a hit is never a guess.
What is bot spoofing and why flag it?
Scrapers faking an AI bot user agent to get through. On the Cloudflare Worker setup, claimed bots are checked against Cloudflare's verified bots data and the fakes get flagged. A plain log upload identifies bots by user agent alone, so pick the Worker when spoofing matters to you.
How is this different from AI traffic?
Crawlers are machines reading your pages to build answers; AI traffic is people clicking out of those answers onto your site. Cause and effect, tracked on two separate pages.
What if an AI crawler is blocked on my site?
