How do you detect that a visit comes from an AI assistant?
From the referrer the browser sends when someone clicks out of ChatGPT, Perplexity, Copilot and the others. We classify it per assistant and keep the landing page.
What about privacy?
The snippet is deliberately minimal: no cookies, no persistent identifier, IP used transiently to derive a country and never stored, user agent reduced to a device class.
Is this the same as crawler analytics?
No, and the difference matters: AI traffic is people clicking out of AI answers onto your site. Crawler analytics is AI bots reading your pages to build those answers. Promptrack tracks both, separately.
